Dolphins rout Hardeeville for 1st 3-0 start in almost five decades

Battery Creek’s football team continued its impressive start to the season with a 57-15 rout of visiting Hardeeville on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026, moving the Dolphins to 3-0 for the first time in 46 years.
After the defense carried Creek to a 22-6 win at Whale Branch to open the season and Eddie Heyward’s late touchdown run and two-point conversion lifted the Dolphins to a 29-28 win over John Paul II, the Dolphins left no doubt against the Hurricanes.
Hardeeville opened the scoring after returning the opening kickoff inside the 5-yard line, but it was all Dolphins from there. Nehemiah Johnson capped off a long scoring drive with a 1-yard plunge to tie it at 7, and Battery Creek extended the lead to 17-7 by halftime with a field goal and an interception return for a touchdown.
The Hurricanes had a chance to make it a game when they drove inside the 10 on their first possession of the second half, but the Dolphins forced and recovered a fumble in the shadow of their own goalpost to preserve the lead, then broke it wide open.
The Dolphins’ three-game win streak is their first since 2019, and they’ll try to make it four straight for the first time since 2012 when they travel to Ridgeland on Friday. The Jaguars are 0-3 after suffering a 34-28 loss at Stall on Friday. Battery Creek has won six of the past eight meetings with the Jaguars but lost 33-31 in the most recent matchup in 2023.
