It’s almost time!
Cracker is set to appear Sunday, Sept. 6, at Shellring Sunset Sessions at Shellring Ale Works in Port Royal.
Atlanta’s Drivin n Cryin kicked off the series May 24.
Some tickets still remain for Cracker. They’re $48 each and will be available only at the door.
Cracker, was formed in 1990 by lead singer David Lowery, formerly the frontman for the 1980s band Camper Van Beethoven, and guitarist Johnny Hickman. Bryan Howard (bass guitar) and Carlton “Coco” Owens (drums) round out the current lineup.
The band’s first album “Cracker,” released in 1992, featured the single “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now),” which reached No. 1 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart. The band’s follow-up album from 1993, “Kerosene Hat,” included the hits “Low,” and “Get Off This,” as well as a wildly popular hidden track, “Euro-Trash Girl“
The band has released nine studio albums and numerous compilations, collaborations, solo projects and live albums. The band’s music is hard to categorize, featuring touches of rock, punk, grunge, psychedelia, country, blues and folk.

Lauren Anderson playing Street Music on Paris Avenue
Street Music on Paris Avenue continues at 6 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5 on Paris Avenue in Port Royal as Lauren Anderson, a Nashville-based singer-songwriter known for her dynamic blend of blues, soul and rock makes an appearance.
Originally from Chicago, Anderson brings a powerful and energetic stage presence shaped by influences ranging from Bonnie Raitt and Susan Tedeschi to Etta James. Her 2021 album “Love on the Rocks” debuted at No. 14 on the Billboard Blues Chart, and her accolades include the 2025 Josie Music Award for Best Jazz/Blues Vocalist of the Year.
Anderson also appeared on Season 28 of NBC’s The Voice as a member of Team Snoop.
Shrimp City Slim back
Shrimp City Slim returns to Beaufort this month. He will appear, playing is brand of world piano blues and original musing from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Sept. 11 at Hop Dog, and from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Port Royal Farmers Market.
