Former South Carolina prosecutor and attorney general candidate to hold meet-and-greet at Old Bull Tavern on Wednesday.

Republican South Carolina Attorney General candidate David Pascoe is scheduled to visit Beaufort this week as part of his campaign ahead of the June 9 Republican primary election.

Pascoe will attend the meet-and-greet event, hosted by Graham Trask, on May 13, beginning at noon at Old Bull Tavern in downtown Beaufort.

According to promotional materials circulated locally, pizza and drinks will be served during the event, which is being billed as an opportunity for voters to meet Pascoe and discuss his campaign for South Carolina attorney general.

Pascoe, a longtime prosecutor who previously served as South Carolina’s First Circuit Solicitor, is campaigning on themes including government accountability, public corruption investigations and law enforcement support.

He became widely known statewide for his role leading the State Grand Jury investigation into corruption allegations tied to the South Carolina State House, commonly referred to as “ProbeGate,” during his tenure as special prosecutor.

The June 9 Republican primary will determine the party’s nominee for South Carolina attorney general ahead of the November general election.

The event at Old Bull Tavern is open to the public.
