Tuesday morning, June 2, the Burton Fire District, MCAS Fire and Emergency Services, Beaufort County EMS and Sheriff’s Office, responded to a house fire which displaced two adults.
Just past 9 a.m., emergency crews were dispatched to a reported house fire on Lemon Lane in Burton after the resident stated she came home to find it full of smoke.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found smoke coming from a single-wide mobile home. Fire crews entered the home, extinguished the fire, and while they were told no one was inside, completed a search of the home in an abundance of caution.
The home sustained heavy damages displacing the two adult residents. The Red Cross has been called to assist.
No injuries were reported. The fire remains under investigation.
