American Legion Beaufort Post 207 brings you Kevin Cannon, 64, who joined the U.S. Army Reserve in Norwalk, Conn., in 1979. After Basic Training at Fort Sill, Okla., he trained in field artillery and was assigned to the Norwalk Armory for duty.
He separated in 1985 and moved to Delaware where he worked in construction and then began a 20-year career in cooking, restaurant management and hotel services.
In 2012 he moved to Beaufort and continues to work in hotel services at our Hampton Inn. He has seven children, four of which are on active duty, two in the Navy, one Marine and one in the Army. One daughter in the Navy retires next month.
