Battery Creek High School celebrated the accomplishments of 146 graduating seniors during commencement exercises held May 28 on the school’s campus, marking the culmination of years of academic achievement, leadership, athletics and community involvement.

The Class of 2026 adopted the motto, “Every Ending Brings A New Beginning … And We Did It!” as graduates crossed the stage and prepared to take the next step in their lives.

Members of the graduating class earned a combined $987,000 in scholarship awards. Academic achievement was a hallmark of the class, which included the school’s Top Ten graduates, seven Senior Scholars and 76 students who graduated with Seals of Distinction.

The class also demonstrated success in advanced academic programs. Five students earned associate degrees while still in high school through dual enrollment opportunities, allowing them to begin their college careers with significant coursework already completed.

Following graduation, 45 students plan to attend four-year or two-year colleges, while 40 graduates will pursue technical or trade programs. Another 13 graduates have committed to military service.

Beyond academics, the Class of 2026 was heavily involved in extracurricular activities and service organizations. Thirty-nine student-athletes graduated this year, while seniors also participated in groups including the National Honor Society, Student Council, Student Lead Team, HOSA, Interact and Students Against Destructive Decisions.

Battery Creek Principal Dr. Rodney Graves praised the graduating class for both its accomplishments and character.

“I am incredibly proud of this graduating class,” Graves said. “Not only for their resilience, but also for their brilliance and their steadfast support of one another and the Dolphin community.”

Graduates also reflected on the perseverance that helped them reach commencement day.

“Don’t ever give up, because while everyone is counting you out God is counting you in,” one senior said when asked what advice they would offer others and how they viewed the future.

As the Dolphins turn the page to a new chapter, the Class of 2026 leaves Battery Creek High School with a legacy of academic achievement, leadership and determination, while carrying forward the lessons learned during their time as students.
