Beaufort Multiple Sclerosis (MS) walk team, “Team Bauer Power,” invites the public to put up a fight against MS by joining them at two events aimed at raising awareness and funds for The National MS Society.
Shelley Lowther, owner of Dancing Dogs Yoga, is offering a benefit all levels yoga session Saturday, September 17, from 1-3 p.m. at 1211 Newcastle St., Unit 2F. A donation of $20 per person is suggested. Registration is available online at www.dancingdogsyoga.com or by emailing shelley@dancingdogsyoga.com. EarthFIT Training Facility, located at 39 Sams Point Rd, is offering two benefit training sessions on Saturday, October 8, at 9 and 10 a.m., for a suggested donation of $10 per person. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. Symptoms may be mild, such as numbness in the limbs, or severe, such as paralysis or loss of vision. The progress, severity, and specific symptoms of MS are unpredictable and vary from one person to another. Today, new treatments and advances in research are giving new hope the estimated 400,000 affected by the disease.
