New Year’s Eve fireworks are returning to downtown Beaufort.

Beginning at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31, 2023, on the Beaufort River, guests are invited to gather at Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort – or anywhere that has a good view of that portion of the river – to see the “colorful bursts of light” as they “fill the sky,” according to the event’s Facebook page.

Typically, fireworks are held in downtown Beaufort in July to celebrate the opening night of the Beaufort Water Festival, but The Beaufort Area Hospitality Association hopes to “grow this event into a celebration of past, present and or course new,” and turn it into an annual event that locals and guests can look forward to.

Chairs and blankets are encouraged for those who wish to view the fireworks from Waterfront Park.
