Whitehall Park open house to showcase results of community survey

Update: This event has been cancelled.

From staff reports

Beaufort County, in partnership with the City of Beaufort, the Beaufort County Open Land Trust, and the Friends of Whitehall Park, will host an open house to showcase the results of the Whitehall Park Passive Recreation community survey conducted in March and discuss passive recreation opportunities.

The event will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 8 at Whitehall Park, White Hall Drive, Lady’s Island.

Rain date will be Wednesday, July 22.

Representatives from the partner organizations will be on hand to answer questions. The County will use this feedback to develop the final master plan for the park.

The Friends of Whitehall Park have donated individual water cups to the first 300 attendees.

Protective measures will be taken during the open house. Volunteers will be directing parking and attendees; social-distancing measures will be implemented; hand sanitizer and water will be available; and individual pencils and notecards will be provided to attendees.

All attendees will be required to wear a facial mask or covering.

Attendees should be prepared for the possibility of hot, humid, and buggy conditions. An online presentation and survey will also be available after the event for anyone who does not wish to attend in person.
