What a day for an oyster roast!

By Wendy Nilsen Pollitzer

The St. Peter’s Oyster Roast and Microbrew Festival was held Saturday, March 2 at the Live Oaks Park in Port Royal. The cold weather didn’t deter a large crowd from attending, and many gathered by the large bonfire in the center of all the activity. Patrons enjoyed music by The Steppin’ Stones, a buffet of oysters and a tasting of more than 50 microbrews, beer and wine courtesy of Bill’s Liquors and Fine Wines. Both a live and a silent auction featured vacation packages, chartered fishing trips, hunting rifles, original artwork, wine tasting parties, catered dinners, rounds of golf and more. Children enjoyed a fun court with face painting, inflatable rides, games and other activities. The family friendly event raised money to benefit St. Peter’s Catholic School on Lady’s Island.
