SC250 hosting Revolutionary War tour in Beaufort County in May

The South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250) is inviting the public to its Quarter 4 Commission meeting and activities, which will be hosted in Beaufort County on Thursday, May 2 and Friday, May 3.

Tthe SC250 Commission, county committee members and guests will tour of American Revolution sites in Beaufort and Jasper Counties and attend meet and greet reception in the courtyard of The Arsenal at the Beaufort History Museum on Thursday, May 2. The SC250 Commission meeting will be held at the Parish Church of St. Helena at 10 a.m., Friday, May 3. All events, including the Commission meeting, are open to the public.

The South Carolina American Revolution Sestercentennial Commission (SC250) was chartered by the state General Assembly to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary Era and highlight the state’s significant role in securing America’s independence.

  •  12:45 p.m. – Caravan Tour of Beaufort County American Revolution Sites
    Limited Bus Seating; Leaving from Frampton House, 1 Low Country Lane, Yemassee.
  •  5:30 p.m. – Meet & Greet with the Commissioners
    Courtyard at the Arsenal, 713 Craven Street, Beaufort; Light refreshments.

Friday, May 3

  •  9 a.m. – Press Availability with Executive Team
  •  9:30 a.m. – Gathering at The Parish Church of St. Helena, 507 Newcastle Steet, Beaufort.
  •  10 a.m. – SC250 Commission Meeting Part I
  •  Noon – Lunch Break
