Marian Rollings, in the red shirt and holding the sign, is a Past Regent of the Chapter, as are Harriett Bosiack (left behind Gail), Nancy Crowther, and Charlene Shufelt (far right). Coates is the sole surviving charter member of the Thomas Heyward, Jr. Chapter, DAR, organized on April 5, 1976. She continues her active membership in the Chapter.
