It’s time again for OLT’s ‘Brunch on the Bluff’

From staff reports

It’s time to pull out your best spring soiree attire and join the Open Land Trust (OLT) for its fourth annual “Brunch on the Bluff” to celebrate its birthday, as well as the first property the Trust protected.

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 27, there will be crab cakes and conservation on the Bluff on Bay (where it all began) at 1806 Bay Street in downtown Beaufort.

There will be catering by Susan Mason, complete with her famous crab cakes, an open bar, live entertainment, and of course, scenic views. Parking is available street-side and at Beaufort Elementary School.

Tickets are almost gone. They are $150 each and can be purchased at https://bit.ly/49RJU2g.

Proceeds from this event will be put straight to work this spring and summer to conserve local farms that feed us, rivers and marshes that sustain us, and open spaces for all to enjoy.

There will be an exciting raffle that includes a week in the Bahamas, $3,000 cash, and a one-of-a-kind Hope Town Canvas duffle bag.

Those who purchase raffle tickets can win a trip to Spanish Wells on Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas – seven nights, and eight days in paradise at a stunning four-bedroom, three-bathroom home, complete with an additional en suite studio featuring an extra bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette.

Perched on one of the highest elevations of the island, this home offers sweeping views of the turquoise waters and island breezes that flow through its outdoor porches and open floor plan. Situated on five acres of land, the property boasts a sprawling lawn and access to its own private beach.

This house is a private residence used as a vacation home for a family who has generously donated this one-week stay to support the important work of the Open Land Trust. The prize is valid for one year from the date of the event.

Tickets – $100 each, 6 for $500 or 12 for $1,000 – are capped at 300. The prize package, valued at $28,000, also includes:

  • $3000 cash to use for travel expenses;
  • A one-of-a-kind Bahamian-made Harbour Island Canvas Carry-On Duffel filled with goodies for your week’s vacation in the islands; and
  • Suggested trip guide to include all you need to know to maximize your trip – travel routes, suggested tours, dining, etc.
