Nakoa to perform at Music on Malphrus

From staff reports

If you attend just one Music on Malphrus event, reserve a seat for Matt Nakoa on Friday, Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. A charismatic award-winning songwriter and singer, Nakoa guarantees an incredible performance.

His remarkable piano skills transition from Chopin to beer-soaked honkytonk in one set. His heartfelt original compositions on the guitar are nothing short of awe-inspiring.

The modern-day troubadour’s first solo albums, garnered multiple songwriting awards, including a win at the Kerrville Folk Festival. His newest album, “Casting Shadows,” is a spellbinding blend of pop, soul, and classical influences and tells a story of childhood dreams crashing headlong into a grownup reality.

Music on Malphrus takes place at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of the Lowcountry at 110 Malphrus Road, Bluffton. The show starts at 7 p.m., and doors open at 6:15 p.m.
