Large police presence at Beaufort High follows unconfirmed report of shots fired

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, Beaufort City Police Department, as well as other first responders are on scene at Beaufort High School located at 84 Sea Island Parkway.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., Wednesday morning, Oct. 5, emergency services were dispatched to Beaufort High School for the report of shots fired.

A parent of a Beaufort High student told The Island News that her child called her to tell her a student had a gun at school.
Emergency services are actively clearing the school. At this time, no victims have been located, and no shots fired have been confirmed.
