The Junior Service League of Beaufort (JSLB) is hosting a community diaper drive to collect diapers and baby essentials for local families throughout Beaufort County. Last year’s inaugural drive collected 8,000 diapers; this year’s goal is 10,000.
This year’s drive is chaired by Kirstin Denny, a JSLB member and mother of two, who is using her role with the League to raise awareness about preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication she experienced with her second child.
“Every mom needs a community behind her, whether it’s her first baby or her third,” Denny said. “This drive is about making sure no family in Beaufort has to choose between diapers and other necessities.”
The drive reflects JSLB’s broader mission to support and uplift mothers at every stage, not just those with newborns. Whether a family is welcoming its first child or its fifth, organizers say, the need for community support doesn’t go away.
Founded in 2005, the Junior Service League of Beaufort is a nonprofit organization of women committed to promoting volunteerism and supporting and enriching the lives of women, children and families in Beaufort County.
