Holy Trinity Classical Christian School is hosting its annual Christmas program titled Evergreen at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13 at Community Bible Church. This is a Christmas musical celebration including musical and dramatic performances featuring Holy Trinity students in grades K-12.
This year’s inspiration for the program comes from the life of Saint Boniface, a missionary bishop who brought the message of Christ to Germany in the 700s. Legend states that Boniface was the first to use an evergreen tree (what we know today as the “Christmas tree”) as a symbol of Christ’s never-changing faithfulness.
Anna Booman, Grammar School Fine Arts Teacher and Choral Director for Holy Trinity, said, “We are so used to seeing Christmas trees at this time of year, we are apt to miss the symbolism within those beautiful branches. We hope that our Christmas program, Evergreen, will inspire us all, through story and song, to remember afresh Christ’s love for us that is always new.”
Holy Trinity students will present an array of musical offerings, including several German carols such as Silent Night and O Tannenbaum sung in the original language. Throughout the program, there will be many opportunities for congregational participation in the singing of the most beloved Christmas carols.
The event is free. Doors open at 5:30 pm. The program will be held at Community Bible Church, 638 Parris Island Gateway, Beaufort 29906.
