Beaufort Memorial recognized more than 200 employees for a combined 2,255 years of service at its annual Employee Service Awards held Oct. 1.
The annual event highlighted 201 employees reaching career milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years at the organization.
Honorees included 87 employees celebrating 5 years, 53 celebrating 10 years, 19 celebrating 15 years, 19 celebrating 20 years, 14 celebrating 25 years, 8 celebrating 30 years and one employee, cardiovascular and pulmonary services director Sharon Shupe, marking an impressive 35 years at the community health system.
This event highlights the important role that longtime healthcare professionals play in advancing patient care in Lowcountry communities across Beaufort, Jasper and Hampton counties.
“These employees represent the very best of Beaufort Memorial,” said President and CEO Russell Baxley, who was recognized for his own 10-year career milestone. “New facilities and technologies help us grow, but it’s our people who make this organization truly special. The commitment and compassion demonstrated by these team members have helped shape both Beaufort Memorial and the health of our community.”
Baxley also noted that long-term career milestones are often rare in the challenging, always-changing healthcare industry.
“In today’s world, celebrating 10, 20 or even 35 years with a single organization is remarkable,” he added. “We are proud to recognize the employees who have dedicated so many years of their lives to caring for patients, supporting this team and making a difference in our community.”
