Ellen Corbett honored by US Croquet Association

On October 5, Dataw Island resident Ellen Corbett was given the lifetime achievement award by the United States Croquet Association. Mrs. Corbett received this distinction in recognition of her dedication to the sport and her commitment to the Croquet Club of Dataw Island. The lifetime achievement award is given to 20 to 30 individuals each year.

The presentation was made during the 20th anniversary celebration of the Croquet Club of Dataw Island. The United States Croquet Association is made up of 200 croquet clubs across the country with more than 3,000 individual members.

Bruce Anderson of the Croquet Club of Dataw Island said, “Ellen is a very deserving recipient of this honor her efforts have, and will continue to, have a very positive affect on our club. We are so proud of her and appreciative of the United States Croquet Association for giving her this deserved acknowledgement.”
