Hilton Head Christian Academy’s James Crosby spun a one-hitter and and Jacob Eddy delivered two hits and an RBI to lead the Eagles to a 10-3 win at Beaufort Academy in SCISA baseball action March 31.

Crosby struck out seven and limited BA to one hit — a Walker Day single leading off the bottom of the first — while walking two and allowing three unearned runs to a BA team that scored 17 in a win over Bridges Prep a day earlier. Two of those runs came in the bottom of the first, matching the two-spot HHCA put up in the top half.

HHCA broke through for three runs in the third and three more in the fourth to establish a commanding 8-3 advantage, then tacked on two more in the fifth for insurance.

Day had the lone hit for BA, while Riley Thomson and John Asher Howell each drove in runs.

BA bounced back to roll to a 17-3 road win over Bridges Prep on Tuesday.

Braydon Dineen went 3-for-3 with a homer, a double, and five RBIs, and Zeke Gonzalez hit a three-run homer to fuel the offense for the Eagles.

BA set the tone in the first, when the first six batters reached base, and the Eagles sent 16 to the plate in their 10-run third inning to end it early.

Day struck out six and limited the Bucs to three runs and six hits to earn the win.
