The First Beaufort Junior Cotillion program began on Sunday, August 26. The high impact program is designed to improve students’ social skills. Fourth through ninth grade students are presented a character 
education, etiquette and social dance training. Classes include monthly dances and events from August through January, which are held at the Grand Hall, The Old Arsenal, 701 Craven Street. The strength of the program is its hands-on approach to teaching. The students have an opportunity through repetition to recollect social skills that will be a valuable asset throughout their life, says Director Mary Kennerty.
