BCSO: 3 individuals who left AMIkids Beaufort located

All three individuals who left AMIkids Beaufort in Seabrook last week have been located.

On Saturday afternoon, Aug. 22, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) released that it was actively searching for three juveniles who ran away from AMIkids Beaufort, located at 60 Honeybee Island Road in Seabrook.

On Saturday night, Aug. 22, Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Jaquan Sumpter. Sumpter was taken into custody and booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center on the charges of Fleeing to evade arrest or detention; Escape, attempted escape or possession of tools to escape from prison, recaptured; and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts.

On Sunday, Aug. 23, Ayden Wilson and Jeremy McDonnell were located and detained by Colleton County Sheriff’s Office deputies. Both juveniles were transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice.

AMIkids Beaufort is a residential facility in Dale that provides, not only education, but numerous hands-on educational opportunities, treatment and behavior modification.

AMIkids partners with community service projects throughout Beaufort County. The program serves young men assigned to the facility through the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice, and students work toward their high school equivalency diplomas.
