Two Beaufort students take home wins during a recent South Carolina chess tournament. Beaufort Academy third grader Kevin Rogers won the K-3 state title while BA kindergartner Whit Suber won Kindergarten State Champion. This is the third straight year a BA chess team player has won this title. Beaufort Academy Chess Coach Darrin Rogers said, “The team is playing phenomenal chess.” The chess team will be tested in May when they attend the K-6 national chess tournament in Tennessee.
