Warriors Sweep

Whale Branch bigs beat up on Beaufort

The Whale Branch boys knew they had an advantage inside Friday at Beaufort High, and they made sure to exploit it.

Shawn Chisolm poured in 26 points, and Nick Pringle added 17 and electrified the crowd with some highlight-reel dunks as the Warriors rolled to a 72-49 road win.

Jaylin Parrales added eight points, and Devonte Barnard had seven for Whale Branch.

The game was tied at 13 after one quarter, but the Warriors outscored the Eagles 22-4 in the second quarter to take control and maintained the cushion throughout the second half.

Ollie Holmes and Zyrin Odom each scored 12 points for the Eagles, who couldn’t overcome the second-quarter scoring drought.

Warriors earn big road win over rival Eagles

The Whale Branch girls continued their strong start to the season with a hard-fought 40-35 road win at Beaufort High on Friday.

Zhani Thompson scored 13 points, and Kynew Barnwell added 10 to lead the Warriors in a defensive struggle. TreNasia Watson, Jazmin Diaz, and Erin Rivers each added five points for Whale Branch.

Layla Warren poured in 24 points, and Sequoia Smalls added eight for Beaufort, but the Eagles missed too many free throws down the stretch to close the gap.
