At a recent meeting of the Beaufort chapter of AAUW, the group hosted Alison Barton, who spoke on “Finding a Place to Help Where You Are Needed” and the various types of volunteer work that Dataw Island residents currently provide at St. Helena Elementary School. Marge Jarvis, the first volunteer at the school from Dataw, also spoke about the history of the partnership Dataw has had with St. Helena Elementary for many years.
