Beaufort’s Wayne Willis, 77, enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1962. After training in Avionics, he served at El Toro twice; Da Nang Air Base, Vietnam; Iwakuni; Jacksonville; and at MCAS Beaufort twice. He retired in 1984 as a Gunnery Sgt. and went to work in Savannah for 32 years with Gulfstream Aerospace.
