Very quietly, A Taste of Beaufort will celebrate its 25th anniversary with an expected 10,000 people this weekend when the event, the City’s annual foodie festival, kicks off the month of May in Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park on Friday, May 3 and Saturday, May 4.

“The weather is looking good, and the event is ready to go,” City of Beaufort Downtown Manager Ashley Brandon said.

The event runs from 5-10 p.m. on Friday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.

The free festival features musical entertainment, a Kids Corner, a craft market, and food and drinks from several local outlets, including Sea Eagle Market, Belly Full by Tyger, Mother Smokin’ Good!, and A Taste of Mexico.

Brandon said the local vendors apply, but the regulars generally stay the same.

“It’s always around the same amount,” she said. “Four restaurants and five desserts.”

Friday’s highlight, besides the food, of course, is a concert headlined by Cody Webb. On Saturday, there will music from Stuck in Time, Parris Island Marine Corps Band, Liz Jane, and Chris Jones.

The Kids Corner will be open on Saturday. And Craft Market hours are from noon to 6 p.m. both days.
