Southern Scooters Toy Run brings in big Christmas haul

By BOB SOFALY

More than 300 motorcycles and a few classic hot rods made their way Sunday to the Salvation Army headquarters during the 39th annual Southern Scooters Toy Run.

The bikers – some belonging to clubs and others just individual riders – collected thousands of dollars and hundreds of new, unwrapped toys. The toys will be distributed to those children who need it most this Christmas.

Santa and Mrs. Claus ride a gleaming blue sleigh as they turn into the Salvation Army headquarters Sunday afternoon on North Street.
