Shots Fired in Quality Inn Parking Lot

 

At 2:30 a.m. on June 3, 2012 Beaufort Police officers responded to a report of shots being
fired at the Quality Inn motel located at 2001 Boundary Street. When they arrived they met
with witnesses who reported several subjects had fired numerous shots in the parking lot of
the motel. One 17 year old man had been grazed near the ear and needed minor medical
treatment. According to witnesses a group of young men (including the man who was shot)
were visiting a room that some young women were staying in. A second group of individuals
arrived and hostile words were exchanged. Members of the second group went to the parking
lot and began firing towards the room. Several bullets struck the motel and a vehicle in the
parking lot. The investigation is in progress and investigators are still interviewing witnesses.
