Sgt. Westfelt receives Navy and Marine Corps Medal

U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Colten Westfelt, a primary marksmanship instructor with Weapons and Field Training Battalion, received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal during an Oct. 10, 2025, ceremony on Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island for his life saving actions during a car accident. The Navy Marine Corps Medal is the highest non-combat decoration awarded by the Department of the Navy to sailors and Marines who have performed acts of heroism outside of direct conflict. Lance Cpl.
