Save the date for AMIkids Beaufort croquet picnic on May 10

By Lanier Laney

I can’t begin to tell you what a great organization AMIkids has been for area youth. It’s truly one of the great charitable success stories of our county. They literally pump every dollar raised into helping get troubled area youth on the path to success in life. And their good results have been astounding! The annual Croquet Picnic fundraiser that will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 10, on Bray’s Island is both beautiful and fun. Plus there is a special “Captain’s Party” event for supporters at Brantley Harvey’s historic Marshlands downtown on May 9.

Co-chairs Mike Ingram and Dr. Mike Harris ask for a $50 spectator fee made out to AMIkids Beaufort (tax-deductible) for the croquet picnic. The entry fee for teams on May 10 is $400, and teams can range from four to more than eight members. They also encourage people with teams to invite others to join for the picnic side (good food, good drinks) side of things. For more information, to offer silent auction items or to sign up a croquet team, call Dr. Mike Harris at 843-524-1762 or Mike Ingram at 843-846-3149.
