From staff reports
The Saint Peter’s Catholic Church 65th annual Fall Bazaar, one of Beaufort’s most popular fall events, returns on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. The event will once again provide friends and families with a delightful day of delectable food, mouthwatering libations, irresistible arts and crafts, enchanting auction items, and children’s games, activities, and a petting zoo.
Entrance to the bazaar is free and open to the public.
As in years past, the bazaar will feature scrumptious international foods from several countries. For those desiring more sugary treats, the ever-popular Sweet Shoppe will provide cakes, pies, cookies, and other satisfying delicacies.
Beer and wine will be available for purchase. Cold soft drinks and water, sponsored by Habersham Land Company, will also keep participants hydrated.
All that food will require exercise to burn it off. The purchase of a wristband will allow children access to games, face painting, and the popular Beaufort Barnyard and Petting Zoo.
The Silent Auction will feature new items and services donated by local businesses and individuals. An online auction that in the past has included items such as a chartered full-day fishing trip, vacation rentals, a gourmet dinner with the pastor, and golf packages, will open on Sept. 20 and will conclude at 2 p.m. on Bazaar Day.
Returning for its fourth year is the bazaar Craft Fair. Local artists and craftsmen will display a wide variety of beautiful and novel items that make early Christmas and other holiday shopping a breeze.
For the gardening enthusiast, the bazaar will also feature an extensive plant sale. Tours of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church and School will also be available.
The Saint Peter’s Catholic Church Annual Bazaar raises funds for Lowcountry Outreach, a ministry of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church. Lowcountry Outreach works to increase services that are absent or scarce on Lady’s and St. Helena’s Islands and Beaufort.
Housed in the former insurance services building adjacent to Saint Peter’s campus, Lowcountry Outreach partners with Good Neighbor Medical Clinic, Lowcountry Legal Volunteers, A Father’s Place, Guitars for Vets, Alienated Parents of Adult Children, and recovery programs such as AA and Al-Anon.
Lowcountry Outreach’s Angel Rides program addresses one of the greatest unmet needs in our area, lack of transportation. Volunteers with this program have completed over 850 rides for people to medical and other needed appointments. Additional information can be found at https://lowcountryoutreach.org.
