Purse Snatching in Downtown Beaufort

PURSE SNATCHING SUSPECTS SOUGHT

At approximately 8:30 p.m. on October 30, 2012 Beaufort Police officers responded to a report
of a purse snatching that occurred on Craven Street. A husband and wife reported that as they
were walking down the street two subjects came up behind them. One of the subjects pushed
the woman to the ground and grabbed her purse. After a brief struggle the strap of the purse
broke and the suspects fled with it. Responding officers set up a perimeter and the area was
searched by k-9 units but the suspects were not located. The suspects were described as two
African-American men in their late teens to early twenties. Both were approximately six feet
tall. One was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and the other had on a grey hooded
sweatshirt. The suspects had the hoods of the sweatshirts pulled down around their faces.
