From staff reports

The public is invited to the unclaimed committal service for U.S. Army SP4 Horrell White at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 24 at Beaufort National Cemetery.

According to Beaufort National Cemetery, Horrell is a Vietnam War veteran who died late last year at the age of 76.

“This is not an unclaimed veteran service in the traditional sense,” Beaufort National Cemetery posted in a scheduled event on Facebook. “Due to unavoidable circumstances, the family cannot claim their loved one. In cases like this, the VA steps in to ensure the veteran receives the burial benefit and military honors they are entitled to.”
