Port Royal Police investigating shots fired incident on Waddell Road

Police from the Town of Port Royal and the City of Beaufort responded to a shots fired call Wednesday morning, Nov. 29 on Waddell Road.

According to the Port Royal Police Department, at 9:55 a.m., officers responded to the 2400 block of Waddell Road to assist the Beaufort Police with a report of shots fired. Once on scene, officers concluded that the shots were fired within the jurisdiction of Port Royal, and the Port Royal Police took over the investigation and processed the scene and collected evidence.

A witness described two vehicles pulling from Robinson Street onto Waddell Road. A passenger of a black compact vehicle fired multiple shots toward another vehicle it was following.

The shooter is described as a Black male. Both vehicles fled into the City of Beaufort before the witness lost sight of the vehicles.

There have been no reports of any injuries or property damage. The Port Royal Police ask that anyone with home security systems to check their cameras to determine if any of the incident may have been recorded.
