A Port Royal man is charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct – 1st Degree and Kidnapping after an alleged sexual assault on Thursday in Port Royal.
At approximately 2:44 p.m., Port Royal Police officers were dispatched to a residence in the Picket Fences neighborhood to investigate a reported sexual assault, according to police.
Investigators responded to the scene, and after an investigation, eventually arrested Faithful Chuks Amamba, 36, of Port Royal. According to police, the victim and Amamba knew each other.
At 4:49 p.m., Thursday, Amamba was booked into the Beaufort County Detention Center, were he remained as of Friday afternoon.
