Herbert Alexander
Herbert Alexander, 76, husband of Shirley Alexander, of Beaufort, SC, died Monday, January 14, 2013 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.

Anna Lee Coxsome
Anna Lee Fripp Coxsome, 79, of the Lands End community on St. Helena Island and widow of Harry “Horace” Coxsome died Thursday, January 11, 2013 at the Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Arrangements by Chisholm Galloway Home for Funerals.

George Litchfield
Lt. Commander George Author Litchfield, retired U.S. Navy, 93, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2013 at River Oaks in Beaufort, SC. He was born in Quincy, MA, on August 10, 1919 to George M. Litchfield and Helen Gordon Litchfield. He attended schools in Miami, Florida, and graduated from the University of Miami in 1941 with a degree in Business Administration. He was a member of the university boxing team and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He entered the US Navy in June of 1942 and retired in April 1973. After retiring he worked with the Dowling law firm for 15 years as a legal investigator.
Cmdr Litchfield served on ships and bases in the Atlantic, European and Pacific theaters of operation. He served three tours of duty with the fleet Marine Forces during his 32 years of service. He served as hospital administrator in several duty stations.
He was a member of the Port Royal Baptist Church, where he served as a trustee. He was a pilot and was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He served as a deputy law enforcement officer for 18 years with the SC Department of Natural Resources and as a State Constable for 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Geneva, of 65 years. He is survived by his three children, Dr. Brenda Litchfield (Dr. Jack Dempsey) of Mobile, AL, Dennis Litchfield (Dale) of Crawfordville, FL, and Marie Litchfield (Johnny Pollitzer) of Beaufort.
Burial will be in the Beaufort National Cemetery with full military honors. Graveside services were held Tuesday, January 15 at noon. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Geneva Litchfield Young Artist Fund, Beaufort Artist Association, POB 625, Beaufort, SC 29901-0625.

Collette McMillen
Collette G. McMillen, 77, beloved wife of 56 years to “Mac” McMillen, of Beaufort, SC, died Saturday, January 12, 2013 in St. Joseph’s/Candler Hospital in Savannah, GA.
Mrs. McMillen was born on April 14, 1935 in Milwaukee, WI. Her family and friends were blessed with her unconditional love, generosity and kindness. She will be fondly remembered, dearly missed, and forever loved.
She proudly served in the Marine Corps and is a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to her husband, “Mac” of Beaufort, SC, are one son, James McMillen; four daughters, Karen Didion, Melinda Allfrey, Laurie Coggins and Victoria McMillen; one brother, Buzzy Markussen; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Julie Lux Monson
Julie Lux Monson, 50, died Monday, January 7, 2013 in Hilton Head Hospital. Ms. Monson was born on June 7, 1962 in Chicago, IL. She is the daughter of Leslie Sherman Dietrich and the late Thomas Lux. She was a Station Manager in the Airline Industry. Surviving in addition to her mother of Singer Island, FL, are one daughter, Taylor Monson of Beaufort, SC; one brother, Tommy Lux (Kay); three sisters, Debbie Harriman (Ray), Karen Roach (Bill) and Laurie Lux; her companion, Wayne Miller. Services will be held at a later date. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family..

James Williamson
James deLemos Williamson, 68, husband of Jeanne-Greene Williamson, of Beaufort, SC, died Friday, January 11, 2013 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Anderson Funeral Home and Crematory is serving the family.
