Missing Dale man found dead in Bluffton

The body of a missing and endangered 49-year-old Dale man was was found Monday evening in Bluffton.

The body of Darren Mulligan was found in the area of Gibbet Road in Bluffton. This incident is currently under investigation, according to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO).

The BCSO first asked for the public’s help locating Mulligan on Thursday, Jan. 16, after he was . He was reported missing to the Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

Mulligan was last seen leaving the Albany Grocery Store around 1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11. Mulligan was described as 5 feet, 9 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds and wheelchair bound.
There was concern for his well-being due to his difficulty getting around and the amount of time he was missing.
