Military new briefs for August 31st-September 6th

U.S. Navy Aviation Structural Mechanic 1st Class Michael Cook, from Beaufort, performs maintenance on cotter keys on an F/A-18E Super Hornet, from the “Blue Diamonds” of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 146, aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), Aug. 21 in the Arabian Gulf. While in this region, the ship and strike group are conducting maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners, preserve freedom of navigation, and maintain the free flow of commerce.
