Masked at the market

By Bob Sofaly

Hundreds of people braved the heat and didn’t let a pandemic stop them from shopping at the Port Royal Farmers Market on Saturday, July 11.

All but three people in attendance at about 11 a.m. were masked up and keenly aware of the six-foot social distancing rule. And if one forgot about the distancing, there were plenty of reminders scattered about to remind them.

One young couple with a child were the only ones unmasked. When asked why, they both said they were outside and wearing masks on a stifling hot day would be more harmful to their health than wearing one.
