Just before 10 a.m., Friday, July 25, the Burton Fire District, MCAS Fire & Emergency Services, Beaufort County EMS and the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported kitchen fire in Burton that left a family displaced.
Firefighters arrived on scene and found the residents outside with smoke coming from the home. They quickly extinguished the fire, confining it to the kitchen area; however, the home sustained smoke damages throughout.
An adult and three children were temporarily displaced. Red Cross is assisting. No injuries were reported.
