After being defeated by 13 points less than two weeks ago, the John Paul II girls were out for revenge against visiting Cathedral Academy on Thursday, and the Golden Warriors got it, claiming a 48-46 victory over the Generals.

Freshman Cayce Graves secured the victory at the line to close out the win for JPII, which has won two straight following a four-game losing streak.

The Golden Warriors were lighting it up in the first half, racing out to a 13-2 lead after one quarter and maintaining a 25-15 advantage at halftime.

Despite tired legs, JPII maintained the 10-point lead in the third quarter, but foul trouble began to take its toll in the fourth quarter. The Generals took advantage and turned up the pressure to make it difficult for the Warriors.

Exemplifying her leadership during the game, senior captain Bella Termini held her team together at point guard and contributed all over the court with three points, four assists, and six rebounds. Senior captain Taylor Michael also had another huge night with 20 points, eight boards, and three steals, and Maddie Heathcott secured her second double-double this season with 12 points and 10 boards.

With the postponement of their next game against Hilton Head Prep, the Golden Warriors are off until Jan. 30, when they face Hilton Head Christian Academy.
