Home Invasion on Lady’s Island

Sheriff’s Office Investigating Home Invasion

LADY’S ISLAND, SC (August 23, 2012) – The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion that occurred at a Lady’s Island residence last night.

Just before 11:00 pm last night, Sheriff’s deputies responded to 11 Wildwood Ln in reference to a reported burglary, armed robbery, and assault that occurred at the home moments earlier. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with a 52-year old female victim and her 14-year old daughter who advised that they had just been robbed by two unknown black males.

The victims advised that they had just returned to the home from work and were letting their dog outside when the two suspects suddenly appeared at the front door. The men pushed their way into the home, struck the mother in the head and held both victims at gunpoint, demanding money and jewelry.

After searching through the home and taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspects fled the area, leaving the victims to call 911. The mother sustained minor head injury from the assault and was treated at the scene by responding EMS personnel. The juvenile was unharmed during the attack.

Only a limited description of the suspects was available, being described as black males wearing all black clothing, black masks, and black gloves.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact Investigator Sgt. J. Gobel at 843-255-3421 or the Beaufort County Dispatch Center at 843-524-2777.
