Beaufort Academy blanks Cathedral Academy, 4-0
Posting an impressive shutout win, Beaufort Academy blanked Cathedral Academy 4-0 in a boys’ high school soccer game on Tuesday, March 11.
With the win, Beaufort Academy improved to 3-2.
Jack Olsson, Drummond Koppernaes and Jacob Dalton all scored goals while George Sanford and Joe Bhoi delivered one assist apiece for the win.
Defensively, Beaufort Academy goalkeeper Ashton Guest posted his second straight shutout.
Battery Creek sweeps Garrett Tech
Battery Creek swept Garrett Tech in boys and girls soccer matches last Thursday.
Boys: Battery Creek 11, Garrett Tech 0: Four different Battery Creek players provided scoring in the shutout win. Leading Battery Creek offensively, Caleb Campbell, Kale Slade and Reece Bowles scored three goals apiece while John Saullo scored two goals for Battery Creek in the convincing victory.
Campbell and Erik Barbosa each had two assists for the Dolphins. Slade, Saullo and Dalton Bowers delivered one assist apiece for the team.
Girls: Battery Creek 6, Garrett Tech 1: Mandy Hearn and Kim Digil led the Battery Creek offensive effort with two goals apiece. Morgan Doray and Tiffany Nova netted one goal each for Battery Creek in the comfortable win.
Performing well from her defensive position, Taylor Jones got the start as goalkeeper.
