Governor Nikki Haley issued a statewide proclamation designating  May 4 as “Candice Glover Day” across South Carolina. The proclamation recognizes St. Helena Island native Candice Glover’s great talent and continuing success on FOX Network’s “American Idol.” Born and raised on St. Helena Island, Glover delivered her first public performance at Oaks True Holiness Church at the age of 4.
