Katherine Neal was chosen as The Exchange Club of Beaufort’s Youth of the Year. The Beaufort Academy senior was chosen from among the club’s Youth of the Month winners to receive the top award at the annual banquet. Students are evaluated based on grade point average, extracurricular activities and an essay competition. A $1,000 scholarship check will be mailed to Clemson University where she plans to attend in the fall. A portion of the scholarship funds are made possible by a grant from Charlie Dickerson in memory of his wife, Sue Dickerson who was an ardent advocate for children’s rights.
