ECO-Film Camp at ARTworks is an exciting weeklong program dedicated to exploring and documenting our natural environment. Students will learn about the entire process of documentary filmmaking, from scripting & storyboards, to shooting and editing video. We will enjoy short walkable field trips to the salt marsh and surrounding habitats. Students will have an immersive nature experience, and will have
“hands-on” opportunities with plants and animals, as well as cameras and editing computers. On Friday, we will have a film festival, and screen all the nature documentaries that the class has created. Students will also be given a DVD of their final product.
The class will be co-taught by Rob Lewis and Kathryn Madden. Rob is an award-winning videographer, and director of the nature series Coastal Kingdom. Kathryn is an experienced naturalist, and science teacher at Whale Branch Middle School.
