From staff reports

Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) will conduct a flushing program for a two-week period starting Feb. 21.

The flushing project is due to the need for maintenance on a 36-inch water line located in Jasper County. There will be no interruption in service as a result of the work.

The maintenance will occur in five phases, and flushing will occur between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. several nights during the month of February. The schedule for each phase will be posted on our website at under the scheduled maintenance section.

Customers can use their water as normal, but may notice brief discoloration in the tap water as a result of lines being flushed. If water appears discolored, customers should run cold water for a few minutes. If discoloration persists, BJWSA customers can call 843-987-9200.
