BJWSA to conduct water main flushing program

From staff reports

Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority (BJWSA) will conduct a flushing program for a two-week period starting Feb. 21.

The flushing project is due to the need for maintenance on a 36-inch water line located in Jasper County. There will be no interruption in service as a result of the work.

The maintenance will occur in five phases, and flushing will occur between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. several nights during the month of February. The schedule for each phase will be posted on our website at www.bjwsa.org/water-outages/ under the scheduled maintenance section.

Customers can use their water as normal, but may notice brief discoloration in the tap water as a result of lines being flushed. If water appears discolored, customers should run cold water for a few minutes. If discoloration persists, BJWSA customers can call 843-987-9200.

Information about BJWSA can be found online at www.bjwsa.org.
