BJWSA recognized for continued operational excellence

From staff reports

The National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) presented Beaufort-Jasper Water & Sewer Authority (BJWSA) with one of this year’s NACWA Peak Performance Awards. This annual award is presented to honorees who have achieved excellence in operational performance and permit compliance.

BJWSA was honored for the Laurel Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant’s first Platinum Peak Performance Award. Also, the following facilities earned Platinum status for more than five consecutive years: Palm Key Wastewater Treatment Plant – Platinum 5, Port Royal Water Reclamation Facility – Platinum 5, Point South Wastewater Treatment Plant – Platinum 6 and Hardeeville Wastewater Treatment Plant – Platinum 8. The Platinum Awards recognize 100% compliance with permits over a consecutive five-year period.

“As an organization we are committed to providing high level water and wastewater services to our customers while protecting the beautiful Lowcountry environment,” BJWSA General manager Joe Mantua said. “An achievement like this demonstrates the hard work, professionalism and dedication of our talented workforce in meeting that commitment. Our team has continued to provide these top tier services throughout the ongoing pandemic and we appreciate this recognition from NACWA.”
