Beaufort County closes all County buildings due to COVID-19 surge

//

From staff reports

For the second time this year, all Beaufort County buildings will be closed to the public.

Beaufort County Government leaders remain concerned about the health and well being of county residents and staff as they continue to encounter a rapid rise in COVID-19 infections locally.

Due to the current rate of exposure, all County buildings will be closed to the public starting at 8 a.m. Friday, July 17, until further notice.

County operations will continue as they had prior to reopening in June, with limited staff who will conduct internal and external business by telephone or email as much as possible.

All Convenience Centers will remain open according to their normal operating schedules for now.

Operations at the Hilton Head Island Airport and Beaufort County Airport will remain available.
